I Sign. I Wander., recently donated 15 loaves of bread to the Trivia & Games Night, which was a fundraising event for Shirley Liu and Anabelle Beasley to represent Australia at the upcoming WFDYS Junior Camp. The WFDYS camp will be held in Rome, Italy from the 12th – 20th July 2013.
It was an amazing feeling being able to donate bread and support Shirley and Anabelle, as they have potential to be leaders for other Deaf people in Australia. So much potential between these two – they are destined for great things – that I am sure of 🙂 The WFDYS Junior Camp will be hugely beneficial for them – developing and acquiring leadership and other important skills on an international level. This is an opportunity they are extremely lucky to grab, as it does not come along quite often.
As a result of this, ISIW logo will be on the shirts, which will be worn by Shirley and Anabelle. Max Eyking, a Deaf youth from Victoria is another Australian representative – he will be wearing the same shirt. This is a fantastic promotion for ISIW – and I hope to have more opportunities like this in the near future.
That being said, ISIW will continue to support any causes within the Deaf community, especially with tourism in any aspect.
Yours in Deaf Pride and Travel!
